I think there's something really wrong with him. Something organic. His capacity is diminished.

He comes across not as an unprincipled opportunist pretending to be a serious ideologue on TV, but as someone who latched onto a belief system and is unable to let it go. It's not that he wants to believe this shit - it's that he can't help but believe it. This is in contrast to the majority of Republican politicians who know perfectly well Biden won the election, but who are willing to say otherwise to mollify Trump's base.

I don't know if it resulted from his drug use - and good on him for getting clean - or if he's always dealt with this, but it has to be making him miserable. I really, really think he needs help more than ridicule.
