What if just as Trump's primary skill & tactic was to create chaos and take advantage of any opportunities that arose, the Republicans at this point have a primary skill & tactic of simple obstructionism? Doesn't matter if they flip flop, so long as they can stop the Dems from accomplishing anything. And if Dems follow their usual negotiation tactic of making an offer, then a counter offer and the Republicans repeatedly obstruct each level of negotiation, nothing will move forward.
