Justin Amash began speaking out in a similar way - and was being so loudly and with relish threatened with being primaried that he decided not to run again. Keep in mind Amash was not a "moderate" per se (he is now libertarian), but he also didn't follow the party into the world of alt-reality in order for that reality to match the fabrications of DJT.

In that republican midwestern (Michigan) district who won the primary? A big Trumper? No. Peter Meijer. Who was one of the 10 house republicans to vote for impeachment against Trump due to the insurrection. Will Meijer get primaried out? Possibly. I am not following closely so I have no (if this is your district - please weigh in.) But my point is speaking the truth in some areas - even in GOP districts - does not necessarily = 'be gone!' That independent/mavericky streak may be what makes that candidate popular to the locals.
