That's an excellent point. We're only hearing about the severe cases that require hospitalization Rhiannon12866 Jul 2021 #4

…is touched on in the video; that we’re only tracking cases that wind up in the hospital. Now, it does appear that current vaccines keep people with the Delta variant from developing severe or life-threatening cases, but it also appears that they aren’t all-that-effective in preventing Delta infections, period – you just get less sick if you get it. And it’s probably only a matter of time before Delta mutates into a Delta-plus variant that bypass the vaccine in that respect as well.

What we've learned is that it's possible to get it and not know unless there are symptoms - and these "carriers" are also able to spread it. I understand that the plan was to get everyone vaccinated to mitigate the damage and further loss of life, but the unexpected was that even though the vaccine is readily available here, too many don't take it seriously - so it's getting out of control yet again. And, from what I've heard from physicians on the news, this spread can lead to more variants which can become even more lethal. Scary times indeed.
