'Protests in multiple cities as more and more are without a place to live.' These vulture property owners have long awaited any excuse to be able to jack up their prices and now they think they can do so with impunity. Let's see how 'impuned' they get after a large portion of the population is on the streets.

If they can no longer rent out at the higher price, they will lower it.

You put enough pissed off people on the streets, you are not going to have a functioning market for long.
