OLBERMANN VS...THE NYC WILDFIRE SMOKE AND ACRID SMELL. IT'S FROM THE CALIFORNIA AND OREGON FIRES

Last edited Tue Jul 20, 2021, 08:38 PM - Edit history (1)

There’s nothing especially wrong with the weather in New York’s Central Park. Yet the AQI (Air Quality Index) on Tuesday the 20th rose from 131 in late afternoon to 165 in early evening - the highest this year, and if you’re outside for five minutes you’ll find your throat burning.

we're sending our contributions eastward as well.

As I sit typing on my keyboard my AQI is kicking at 177, way down from this morning's high of 349. I've got active fires north, west, and south of me, and those are just the ones in WA state.

Feels like freakin' late August in terms of fire, temps, and moisture. I live in rural WA and I'll tell you this, none of my neighbors who are TFG followers are disputing the reality of climate change as they live through it.

Keep all of us out west in your thoughts, we've got at least another 6 to 8 weeks of this to look forward to and that assumes our fall rain arrives. Considering how the spring rain totally missed us one can not take any moisture for granted under the current conditions.

Warnings have been ignored about our beautiful planet for far too long by the “fools” n deniers. Fires..decades of drought.. all our doing. My god..even now with bills in Congress, they don’t believe it or want to spend a dime to fix what little bit we can. It’s not just us..it’s all of us sharing this planet who are too blind to see.
