White House faces questions over masking, response to COVID-19 misinformation - CBS News

The White House is meeting with health experts and considering whether guidelines may need to be updated in light of rising COVID-19 cases. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion, Washington Post national political reporter Eugene Scott, and Insider political reporter Oma Seddiq join "Red and Blue" anchor Elaine Quijano with more on that plus the pressure on leaders to combat COVID misinformation, and the new timeline for a bipartisan infrastructure deal.

I need a nap after just reading his daily schedule & I'm nowhere near his age.

I knew he would address these issues because, well, he's Joe!

Personally, I believe he needs to thoroughly clean house at the CDC.

Same with Nancy Pelosi! And not only are they both dealing with overwhelming national issues, but much of the gang that caused the problems is still around, daily creating even more!

I once used that same description for someone in my life, the closest thing I had to a grandfather - on the occasion of his 100th birthday. He just kept going, giving back and leading. Wishing the same strength and perseverance for our amazing leaders!

He was my grandmother's significant other for the last 12 years of their lives, and I was so fortunate to know him. I first got to know him well when he was only 89 and I had trouble keeping up with him then! He was also quite political, traveled the world and worked for civil rights. So often I wonder what he would think of what's happening now...

Must have been cut from the same cloth as Joe & Nancy!

Yes, you were lucky to have him!

All of my grands were dead before I was born.

So glad you had that time together & that he lived his life to the fullest!

They both died fairly young - my Dad's father when he was only 12. I got to know Paul on the trip I made with my grandmother to the USSR - he was the eldest in the group and I was the youngest by a few decades. He would call our room and my grandmother made me answer it, like anyone would be calling me in the USSR! LOL. He'd be calling to ask my grandmother to go out somewhere with him, but initially she would send me! But I knew what he was getting at, so I confided it to the director of our group - so she'd sit the two of them together when we all went out - and my grandmother eventually came around... BTW, she turned 86 on the day we flew home.

My grandmother was part of a peace group in her town in NC that had a "sister town" there and this was the initial visit. She asked me to join her to make up the numbers - and I initially freaked out since I grew up hearing that the Russians wanted to kill us!

But I went because it was my grandmother and it really was the trip of a lifetime. Other members of the group were experienced travelers (like Paul) and were knowledgeable and dedicated. And those we met up with were equally dedicated, WWII decimated that country since it was fought on their soil and they never wanted it to happen again. Even those we met on the street were excited to meet us - it was a time of change in that country - under Gorbachev - and there was such hope. It's heart wrenching to think what they're experiencing now under an ex-KGB dictator who wants to return to the repressive and murderous policies..
