It's interesting that the broad message of the leaked documents pretty much confirm what the CDC and other public health experts have been saying about the delta variant for the past several weeks.
I wonder if people will pay more attention because this was a "leak" rather than open source information.

Here is a link to the slide deck - https://www.washingtonpost.com/context/cdc-breakthrough-infections/11fc6a11-20d7-466e-a654-c6bc8426f688/
I think this "leak" helps the back-track and allows for a better way to message this.
The idiocy of "Get rid your masks and go hug your loved ones if you are vaccinated!!!1!!!!" was stupid. A more calibrated message should have been put out there considering that not only would people not know who else was vaccinated (outside of "trusted" family and friends) but they would know that children were NOT, but would dismiss any impact to or from them.
And that fed into another idiocy about children not being at risk at all.
I know it is a very difficult and delicate balance between dealing with the mental health toll of trying to protect one's physical health.
From day one, they have called this a "novel" virus and we had to deal with a "new normal". Yet in their tunnel vision, every single decision they have made about it has been based on what they would do for one of the common known viruses, and this is why they keep failing over and over and over.
And the idea of "new normal" was nothing more than go back to "normal" (at your own risk).
