(81,713 posts)Better late than never. I never stopped wearing my N95s.

(258,780 posts)I guess it's about time I'd better stock up - just in time for the year-plus enforced mask mandate to be rescinded here in New York.

(81,713 posts)But I bought 2 boxes of 50 3M N-95s at Amazon for around $30 each.
Of course, as soon as CDC changed its recommendation, they sold out almost immediately.
I hope you can find some!

(258,780 posts)The friendly proprietor has recommended some of the "prettier" masks he's gotten in, but I always go for the KN95s. If he runs out - and they're obviously not his top sellers, especially now that masks are no longer required - I'm going to have to suggest he order more or check out your Amazon recommendation. Thanks for that!

(81,713 posts)Sorry, I'd forgotten. 😊
There is absolutely nowhere here to buy a quality mask. 😞
Glad you have a great source.

(258,780 posts)For those looking for masks back then, I gave them to friends and my brother - and recommended my "source." Of course, now masks are available everywhere and people obviously go for the "pretty" ones, but I've only used the KN95s.

(11,780 posts)I don't consider it a big deal, but then I don't get out a lot. Things that I do generally need to wear a mask for half an hour or less.

(258,780 posts)I don't wear a mask if I'm in my car driving alone, but I put one on to enter any store or business. And here in New York, until this past month, for well over a year, masks were required to enter any business and the mask mandate was enforced. But with the more transmissible Delta variant and the start of "tourist season" here in the Northeast, the mask requirement was rescinded and very few are still wearing masks, it's usually a few store/pharmacy employees - and me. *sigh*

(11,780 posts)At least in the places I go.

(258,780 posts)They were required to enter any grocery, pharmacy, gas station, bank, convenience store - any business at all - and it was enforced. A man came into a gas station/convenience store - where I was waiting in line - with no mask just to peruse the newspaper rack at the entrance and was immediately called out by the guys behind the counter. Walmart had mask checkers at the one entrance. Stores had one-way aisles and six-foot distancing marks on the floors at every checkout. But those are rapidly disappearing now that we're "opening up" and masks are only required for the unvaccinated - the "honor system." Good luck with that. Can we possibly put the genie back in the bottle? I doubt it.
