13. Can We Please, For A Moment, Put Politics Aside?

Yes, we’ve lost the war in Afghanistan. No doubt. Can we please just focus on the humanitarian crisis there and how we can possibly help those people who helped us? We can dissect the war later.

I don’t have any love for the people who got us into that, and honestly all those of us who served post 9/11 got played for saps and suckers, and our society will pay the literal bill for that for decades. But please, put the politics aside for now.

Edited to add: I fully support the withdrawal. That place was never worth a single American life. I only hope we can do right by the people who helped us.
