Papantonio: How Romney Out-Crazied The Crazy Right

During the primaries, Mitt Romney had to out-crazy the crazy candidates like Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich. He did this by shifting his positions further and further to the right, which could have destroyed his chances for winning this election. Mike Papantonio talks about Mitt‚s electability problem with Paul Waldman, a contributing editor for The American Prospect.

An already very privileged man was one of those instrumental in decimating our economy and outsourcing jobs in order to achieve unbelievable profit for those who already had more money than they could possibly spend in several lifetimes. I've heard theories that this was mostly about getting more goodies than your competitors. To hell with national and world economy. The nerve of one of those vultures running for the presidency is breathtaking. The low information voters letting side issues contribute to their votes makes decimation of our system a major problem at issue in this election. Add in uncontrolled electronic voting machines, and don't we need some international election monitors?

The Roosevelts Kennedys and Rockefellers were all supremely wealthy families. They were raised with a sense of respect for their privilege, often redeeming their fathers. So ironic that George Romney, who came up the hard way and seemed a decent man, raised a over-privileged son with no empathy for others. But then. as both a parent and a teacher, I've seen this many times on a smaller, local scale. It pretty much comes down to the fact that you were raising kids with love, but with nonetheless understanding that somehow you can produce an alien child, allowing all the freedom given, and love to be rejected. You can handle this in all the right, or all the wrong ways. I'm blessed to have never had this happen, but know that it does happen to very caring parents, YES, the above famous families have produced many kids who have screwed up. Bound to Happen. The jerks among these families, however, have not played the role as viable world leader.
