He’s been a great messenger of the causes of the workers and oppressed people. Another great singing proponent of the common people is Scotsman Dick Gaughan ,whose version of Ed Pickford’s composition, “Workers’ Song’ is a classic, also done later by The Dropkick Murphy’s. Republican Party supporters and voters need to hear these kind of songs and their lyrics, “Have bled for your countries and counted your dead “ and “ always the last when the cream is shared out, for the worker is working when the fat cat’s about”. So many repukes have forgotten their working roots. Another good song for the day is “Part of the Union” by Hudson and Ford, onetime members of English Folk-progressive rock band The Strawbs.
