They can prove it wasn't them, but it'll still work as very effective propaganda. They can say anything about anybody. The damage will be done. They'll hide behind an excuse.

Govt. security agencies (ours and others) get these technologies years before they become public. And if sheer computational power is the bottleneck, govts own all the most powerful supercomputers.

CGI and other enhancements have been around and abused far longer than you might imagine, and not only by OUR agencies and political con-men.
