7. Yup, cases are up now in my mostly rural New York county

The tourists from numerous states showed up in drives over the summer - which coincided with rescinding the mask mandate, except for the unvaccinated. They switched to "the honor system."

Last year everything was closed down, not to mention we had the state quarantine in place, but this summer everything was open with a vengeance. I've driven through Lake George Village and the sidewalks were packed like any other summer and I saw license plates from states as far away as Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and Alabama. The streets were packed, families with kids and dogs, with almost no masks in sight. They apparently think that the pandemic is over...
