more people have died from Covid than we know. There is also the fact that many long hall Covid people just aren’t able to go back to work yet. You rarely hear that discussed or at least I haven’t. As is mentioned in this piece, people can’t find childcare, and I also believe many people decided to retire. I have heard locally people have found better paying jobs and quit their minimum wage jobs and restaurant jobs.

We already know that during the last administration there was a deliberate effort to "play it down." And we know that there are thousands of "deniers" out there who still believe Covid is "a hoax," even when they are sick and dying. It's a horrific situation in this country that never should have happened - if only the man in the Oval Office when the pandemic started had told the truth.

Due to under reporting and indirect deaths.

As far as no child care, there are several issues: 1. It is primarily seen as a women's issue. Women's issues do not get any priority in this country. 2. Children under the age of 12 are not vaccinated, and kids are, unfortunately, major vectors for the spread of viruses. 3. Caregivers, whether of children or the elderly, are way underpaid and way over worked. 4. Employers have had the upper hand for far too long. Wages have been stagnant since the 1970's, and working conditions have sucked because employers have felt that they could get away with maltreatment of their workers. Now, working conditions need be upgraded and improved. Suck on it, employers. You created your own problem.
