What a shame! He had his chance to be a real hero to the nation and he blew it by lying in front of the UN with the curtains closed on Picasso's famous anti war painting "Guernica". He went along to get along and missed greatness!!!!!! It was an opportunity that comes to few!

A lesson for us all!!!! My only regret was I was out of town when he came to speak and so I could not stand outside with a protest sign. Going inside to hear him would have given me a heart attack. My brother in law died for similar lies in Vietnam.......so we really felt the impact of Powell's craven lying in this family!

lied to get up into Iraq. Can't say he has earned all the adulation he is getting.

He knew the plan for the Iraq War was doomed to failure. And he probably knew the "evidence" underpinning the debacle was bullshit. I wish that he had mutinied against Cheney's lies and brought the house of cards tumbling down.

But I still feel that he was a good man. RIP, sir.
