(17,220 posts)We should focus on Newt Gingrich's anti teachers union stance, and all the ways QublicOns want to defund
public schools. I'm sure their "Defund the Police" message helped them last midterm election, and turn around
is fair play, R's want to "DEFUND YOUR SCHOOLS"

(17,220 posts)Only one lady seemed to be upset at the head of the teacher's union and I believe she misinterpreted what
the union leader said. What kind of teacher would tell parents they couldn't be involved in their child's
education? So I take that whole clip with a grain of salt, CNN should have known that was incorrect
and not aired it. IMHO

(7,413 posts)its not unusual for we libs and progs not to have kids so they want to (naturally) split us out as being weird and out of step with society.
I recall Clinton (or his minions) bringing this up about Jerry Brown when he was running against Clinton for president saying a non-parent was seen as not fully responsible and (as some of my relatives said) "selfish."
Baby face Tucker Carlson brought this up a few weeks ago.

(314 posts)This has been absolutely atrocious. Is this kind of behavior the role of parents? Bullying, interrupting and laughing at students who are speaking at meetings, threatening school board members with violent language, giving out their private phone numbers? What kind of example is this?
I think that a long-term right wing goal has been to discredit and destroy public education. Masks were the rallying cry. Schools now have to close for periods of time because they are under-staffed.
No wonder. This isn't the "Party of Parents"; it's the party of SOME parents, and should be addressed as such.
