(9,354 posts)I don't suppose you follow him on Twitter or Fcebook? I am not on any social media but I have an idea I'd love to float off him.

(255,525 posts)And I have no idea where else he is. I'm obviously not on Facebook and what I do with Twitter is mainly pass on what's posted here on DU. There is a Rocky Mountain Mike on Twitter, found that through a Search. Is that the same person?

(9,354 posts)Scroll down far enough and you'll find a Tweet that says, "Here's my latest - 'Bannon.' I did Nazi that coming."
And a response which identifies the original as "Snannon" by Henry Gross, which I didn't know. I'm better at classical music. But my idea is for a Manilow tune.

(255,525 posts)I actually saw Barry Manilow live in concert many years ago, went with my brother. He put on one spectacular show. Awhile after that, my parents were in England and they ran into Barry and his band taking in the sights. It was Barry Manilow's first trip there to perform and he said that no one was familiar with him there - yet - believe it or not! They seemed surprised and pleased to be recognized. So my mother told him that her kids saw him when he performed in Saratoga and she took a couple pix of Barry and his band...

(9,354 posts)For some reason "Weekend in New England" started going through my head, and also for some reason reminded me of "Hooked on a Feeling" - I don't know whether because both are so romantic or because they both use chord progressions which are arresting (secondary dominants I think - very ear-catching.) Anyway, I came up with these two possibilities for the end -
"When will this stupid coup fail, And when will I see you in jail?"
"When will they hold you, no bail, And when will I see you in jail?"
Mike is just so clever. I think he could improve on that, fill it out and kill it.

(255,525 posts)He just needs a recognizable melody and you've got it.
