JFK Remembered at Henry Ford Museum: Presidential Limousine, Secret Service Agent Clint Hill Account

- The Henry Ford reflected on this significant date in American history with special programming in Henry Ford Museum. Guests took time to reflect and see the limousine President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in on that fateful day in Dallas. Joining us that week were James Swanon, Dan Rather and Clint Hill, the Secret Service agent assigned to Mrs. Kennedy on the day of the tragedy.

(~ Years back when I attended a museum conference in Dearborn, Mich., I visited the Henry Ford Museum and saw the president's Lincoln there on display. What a moving & memorable experience).

- Secret Service Agent Clint Hill jumping on the presidential limousine, as captured in the Zapruder film.
- Clinton J. Hill (b. Jan. 4, 1932) is a former U.S. Secret Service agent who served under 5 United States presidents, from Dwight D. Eisenhower to Gerald Ford. Hill is best known for his act of bravery while in the presidential motorcade on November 22, 1963 when United States President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.
During the assassination, Hill ran from the Secret Service follow up car, behind the presidential limousine, leaped onto the back of it and shielded Jacqueline Kennedy and the stricken president with his body as the car raced to Parkland Memorial Hospital. This action was documented in the Zapruder film.
Since the death of Nellie Connally in September 2006, Hill is the last surviving person who was in the presidential limousine that day...

Former Secret Service agent Clint Hill has given his account of the fateful day in Dallas when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Mr Hill was agent number nine travelling in a car behind the President on 22nd November 1963. In this emotive interview he reveals despite jumping on the President's car to try and protect him, he is still haunted by the fact that he was unable to save him.
