you can't successfully sue (that is, get money judgements) another party for defaming you if you are both public figures -- and if your reputation was shit before alleged defaming statements were made. Not to mention you can't sue a sitting President. (Trump showed us all how THAT was done . . . . ) Not to mention that Truth is a perfect defense for defamation.
