On Friday, the parents of the Michigan school shooting suspect were charged with involuntary manslaughter. In a press conference, the prosecutor laid out some of their evidence against the couple, including shocking text messages. Aired on 12/03/2021.

that kid should have been searched and referred IMMEDIATELY for a mental health evaluation - he pretty much TOLD them what he was thinking

Law enforce can do that…the parents can do that. All school officials can do is ask the child to empty the backpack and clearly they should have done that.

He posted on social media about his urges to shoot people at his school and ended it with "help me". He was reaching out and nobody was there. As sick as he was the question becomes why didn't the parents take him in for an evaluation. Too many missed signals.

but now, when school shootings have become so depressingly common, it is extremely disturbing that neither the parents NOR school officials took actions the average person likely could think of
