Like my grandmother and my aunt did. Between the school shootings and the drills, not to mention this lethal pandemic, it's got to be overwhelming. My friend had a daughter in high school and is grateful that she graduated 2 years ago, just in time.

I recall the air raid drill & they were terrifying as a kid.

But that was potential threat from a hostile foreign power, not one of my fellow students.

I agree teaching now is not something I would consider.

I can remember my kindergarten class hiding in the school basement and in elementary school, standing in the hall, facing the wall. What good would that do?? In third grade they sent us home n the middle of the day - another drill for practice in case they had to do it in an emergency.

I was impressed that he made a point of reaching out to the relative of one of the victims who contacted him.
