While I would LOVE to see 45* charged with the crimes he committed I don't pretend to know much about the intricacies of charging a former president* with crimes. I'm pretty sure there's a hell of a burden of proof involved.

With all of that being said, I do hope that it happens as soon as possible.

What is Garland suppose to do? Give press conferences every few days with updates on things? And give it all away? Sure

10. With all the proof out there (videos, audios, letters, etc.) that show trump's guilt, why is it

taking so long? The 2022 elections are going to be on us soon, and people will still be investigating. Bannon is set to go to trial in July, why???

And Garland doesn't seem to be a fast worker, there is plenty of proof to throw trump and many others behind bars. Let us not forget that in a previous administration people like Karl Rove, GW Bush, Chaney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell got away with a lot of criminality, the precedence is not great to give us all a lot of confidence that these people will be made accountable to their crimes, is there?

16. These defenses of Garland are wearing exceedingly thin . . .

. . . The clock is running on this, and a lot of time has been lost already. People are right to raise serious concerns about what the DOJ is or is not doing.

Look, when the DOJ is investigating someone or something, there are typically at least some signs of that investigation -- court filings, subpoenas, etc. -- that the public can see. Continuing to defend Garland's inaction/slow action by saying "we don't know what he's doing" is a recipe for waiting until it's too late.

Another area where Garland has failed to take action was pointed out by the Atlantic article by Bart Gellman earlier this week, and that is on the issue of the hostile takeover of local and state elections by Republicans, and the rewrites of laws to give Republican-controlled state legislatures the ability to set aside popular election results and to send their own slate of electors instead. So far, Garland has focused only on blatantly discriminatory laws and low-level actors from January 6.

Garland is a cautious institutionalist at a time when what we need is a real reformer!

9. He is a regular citizen who played president for 4 years, the "former president" thing does not play

That is the problem, if we are to believe on "the rule of law", or "no one is above the law" then the "former president" thing has to go away. "No One Is Above The Law" means NO ONE.

All of it leads to corruption. I don't know how the 5th works exactly, but it seems that it makes it easy for crooks to avoid telling the truth. If telling the truth incriminates you then you are incriminated, you are guilty. I am hoping that someone who pleads the 5th will be investigated and if found guilty he/she will serve jail time for his/her crimes.

The law is too lenient to people in power. I believe that it should not matter whether a person worked for the White House, whether he/she was president, if criminal acts were committed then the should be held accountable and face jail time.

One more thing I disagree with is this carte blanch the POTUS has to pardon people. Traitors like Bannon, Flynn should have never enjoyed the benefit of the pardon. Why is Flynn not being recalled by the military? Charles Flynn is a good guess. So much room to play in their favour for corrupt people in office. It is shameful.

13. When Obama nominated Garland

he needed 67 votes in the Senate to confirm. He was seen as a moderate. The three people Trump nominated would never have gotten that many votes. That's why McConnell changed the rules. And it's proof that If the situation was reversed, and the republicans controlled both houses of Congress and the Presidency, he would get rid of the Filibuster on the first day Congress was in session.
