(3,340 posts)Is it also just so nice being able to see President Biden shine just for a moment on foreign policy and be the true Leader of the Free World? I think his ability to rebuild America's relationship with our partners is what we need a lot more of and he can truly do that FREELY. If we slip the alternative is so much worse. Hoping for the best and loving the Biden Administration.

Sadly, Bush's dark shadow looms large over this summit - as many inevitably point out that Dubya himself used "democracy" as merely a cudgel against countries he wished to sanction and/or invade (though not others, such as the medieval Saudi regime).
But they should know not all U.S. presidents are "the same."
Biden's a humanist president with a pragmatic outlook toward other countries - and policy in general.
This isn't a religious zealot with delusions of world domination (Bush); or a kleptocrat controlled by foreign and domestic mafias (Trump).
Two people who weren't fit to run a post office - much less the United States of America.
