Accused Capitol Rioter Says Trump Gave Them Permission To Storm The Capitol - Ring of Fire

An accused capitol rioter has submitted a new court filing, claiming that he had a "right" to storm the Capitol because then-President Trump gave the crowd permission to do so. This is the argument that the defendant is making in order to get released from jail before his trial, and it isn't exactly the best argument out there. However, it does give us a glimpse into the mindset of these individuals and helps understand why we have to take Trump's words very seriously - because his followers believe they are orders. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

These fools that want to destroy democracy ought to consider what it would be like to have a left wing autocrat. They seem to think whoever gets into power would follow some path they’ve imagined. For instance a RW autocracy would likely really clamp down on gun ownership sooner or later. Once you’ve destroyed democracy you aren’t going to be able to pick and choose what parts you’d rather not change.

Also, as an aside, he is so repulsive, I can’t stand seeing his picture or hearing his voice.

And I'm with you, I really don't get it, never did. Some presidents are more charismatic than others (JFK), but as far as I can see, this offensive ignorant gasbag has nothing.
