After news broke last week that Republican Florida governor Ron DeSantis allowed nearly a million COVID test kits to expire in a warehouse during the Omicron surge, DeSantis held a press conference where he mocked the healthy people that were getting tests without any symptoms. Not only is he trying to deflect from the issue, but preventative medicine is the foundation of a healthy society, and asymptomatic people can still spread the disease.
