(35,619 posts)I watched this clip three times because I loved how the reporter stayed right on him. The funniest part was when the reporter, incredulous, asked him how he could not know how he learned of where to show up. This guy, who is a state GOP representative, could not/would not answer that question. He took the call. He showed up. But he would not answer that question.
These dumb @$#@#s. Can they not see down the road for a possible outcome of their actions? Does it not occur to them that trump is a shaky individual and the likelihood of a failure is highly possible?
And let's just assume for a moment that their "coup" was successful. Did they not consider that their adversaries would be looking twice at the documentation? Talk about underestimating your opponent.
I can see their explanation for this fraud is going to be they felt they had to submit "dual electors" because they thought the election fraudulent. Sorry dumbass, even if that were to be the case, you have to let the system play out before you get to be an elector.

or full of people like this guy, people who have no business being elected to government because they are dumbass children in grownups' bodies.
My highest hope is that their prosecutions keep all participants from ever owning arms (no militia life for them) or holding elected office (no puffed up doofuses in state legislatures).

(5,088 posts)He thinks he is better than anyone. He thinks he can talk his way out of anything. He is sure he is smarter than everyone else. I like people like him. They make spotting the real lunacy in that party very easy. Too bad he is going to go to jail for sedition. Because that is what he tried to do. Any less of a charge on any of the five state's traitors is more proof that this so called 'justice system' is broken beyond repair.

(17,175 posts)I'll make a general observation which does not necessarily apply to Mr Hoffman: lots of lower-intellect clowns caught in the middle of a con were taken there one small absurd step at a time -- the old "boiled lobster" analogy. Go far enough down that road, and you find yourself doing things which you would have thought ridiculous a few small steps ago.
However, the law does not give mulligans for stupidity. If you do the crime, you should do the time.

The thing that pisses me off is that douchebags such as this Jake Hoffman act so cocky while they are lying and deflecting. This one needs a subpoena.

(10,823 posts)The media going after these people, cornering them, making them sweat as these antidemocratic machinations are brought to light. They thought they were so smart, so justified and righteous scrambling onto the Big Lie.
Now, not so much. Just two-bit liars and con artists caught up in their own fraud.
Kudos to Richard Ruelas and his cameraman. This is what real journalism looks and sounds like.
