proud of their stupidity. Two years into this ... they should be bright enough to comprehend what is going on ... or possibly to have deprogrammed themselves from the crap information they feed on.

Which we also have to do to win.

They been lied to a lot. Making fun of them isn’t going to bring them around.

I don’t really know exactly what will her than hearing the truth 1000 times coming from love as much as possible. Somebody’s teaching them how to be absolute assholes and super mean all the time. If we match that energy I don’t see it going anywhere good. Like Dr. King said, paraphrasing, only light can conquer the darkness

It seems to me that the process is fired by elemental hate. We once thought that the Germans supported Hitler because of a crushing military defeat in WW1 followed by a massive economic crash and absent those factors, Nazi-ism wouldn't have happened -- but it is happening again and pinning it all on Fox and Rush Limbaugh doesn't seem to work,

We have close to a million deaths from Covid already. At least 2/3 of these deaths are unnecessary - without the opposition of anti-vaxxers backed up by opportunistic Republican hacks, there would be hundreds of thousands of people still living.

When anti-vaxxers personally apologize to the family of every one of these unnecessary deaths and admit they were wrong about Covid, then I might think of treating them as human beings.

Anti-vaxxers have shown neither the empathy nor the reasoning capabilities that mark morally responsible human beings. They are not only implicitly mocking the hundreds of thousands of dead, they are directly responsible for these deaths.

Or, at the very least, scrubbing them clean of antivaxxer posts and/or setting them to private.

I'm VERY discouraged by some of the very vile things I've seen people post on sites they've seen via sorryantivaxxers and the herman cain awards. I have no sympathy for the plague spreaders but some have innocent children and other family members who don't need the added distress.

The most POWERFUL things I've read have been posted by family members, describing what it's like to watch their loved ones die of Covid-19, hoping to serve as a warning and/or encouragement to get the unvaccinated to wake up.

I'll be damned if I look for any high ground to stay above this argument.

They complain about COVID ruining everyone's lives, but they won't take the simplest action to stop this pandemic.

They quite obviously don't give a crap about anyone but themselves, so why should I waste one second being nice to their friends and loved ones when they die from COVID?

Screw them. They were morons for not taking the science and medical communities' life saving advice.

"They quite obviously don't give a crap about anyone but themselves, so why should I waste one second being nice to their friends and loved ones when they die from COVID?"

There are plenty of people on DU who are friends and loved ones of people who didn't get vaccinated and either died or are still suffering the effects of severe covid. I remember one even begging DU not to mock her loved one on her thread.

The dead being mocked don't suffer from being mocked. But the mocking does hurt their friends and families, many of whom are wrestling with their own complicated feelings about people who died because they wouldn't get vaccinated.

You don't even have to waste a second being nice. But you don't have to waste a second being mean, either.

15. Hundreds of Trump Voters Are Dying Every Day
Sat Jan 15, 2022, 06:59 PM

I am sad that people are dying but the fact that GOP tend to be antivaxxers is having an interesting political effect https://politicalwire.com/2022/01/15/hundreds-of-trump-voters-are-dying-every-day/

“As of this week, about 1,800 Americans a day are dying of Covid; the C.D.C. expects that number to rise above 2,600.”

“Virtually all are adults. If 95 percent were unvaccinated and we assume that 75 percent of those were Trump supporters, that’s 1,300 to 1,900 of his voters being subtracted from the rolls every single day.“

“Donald Trump lost Arizona by a mere 10,000 votes. He lost Georgia by 12,000, He lost Wisconsin by 21,000. He lost Nevada by 33,000.”

“Right now, about 60 Arizonans, 36 Georgians, 34 Wisconsinites and 14 Nevadans are dying of Covid each day. Seventy five percent of 95 percent of that would be minus 103 Trump voters per day — just in those four swing states. Week after week. That adds up.”
