Noam Chomsky: An Uninformed Electorate Votes Against Its Best Interests

Published on Oct 19, 2012 by ExplodedView MEF

Noam Chomsky explains how public opinion and political policy differ and why often undecided voters vote for policies that are opposite public opinion. This was an excerpt from a talk sponsored by the Center for Popular Economics in Amherst, MA on Sept 27, 2012 called "Who Owns the World? Resistance and the Way Forward."

The dumber you are, the more you vote against your own interests.

The Republican Party COUNTS on their base not being able to put 2 + 2 together.
Iowa is said to be high in education.
No wonder Obama does so well in that state.

I observed that at least the birds that migrate are fattened up for third world countries.

To them who art of the party of God, FAITH shalt lead thee to the Kingdom of Heaven, FACTS shalt lead thee to the fires of Hell. So let glorified ignorance and gullibility rain over the land until Mormonic Mitt's reign of nuclear wars herald the coming of the Second Coming of Joseph Smith and/or John Gault, whichever god Willard whoreships more.

that the banksters care about that has very little to do with improving the economy.

And yet the deficit is the main issue discussed during the economic debates and the only issue Mitts is running on.

It's not just that voters are uninformed, they are fed lies and propaganda and buy into the the con.
