Deliberately catching COVID is popular among some antivaxxers who assume Omicron will be milder for them. They think they'll get natural immunity but sometimes they get more than they expected.

how the unvaccinated think omicron isnt as dangerous for them. Nope. You can die from it if unvaccinated. Where I live several of the unvaccinated are dying from omicron.

and many were wiped out by European diseases anyway. It's risky business.

that the europeans gave the natives in the new world smallpox (and other disease) but that the natives gave the europeans syphilis. Could be true. And syphilis in 1490s was a truly horrible disease, much worse than in the 1880s to recent times.
