And what I don't get is that Republicans claim to look up to Reagan, and he was as tough on Russia as anyone. I was in the USSR during Reagan's term, the peace groups we met with were extremely apprehensive about his upcoming meeting with Gorbachev in Reykjavík. Reagan's tough stance towards Russia caused the hardliners in Russia to push back against Gorbachev's policies of openness and transparency. And yet the Republicans of today appear to be just the opposite, no doubt coming from TFG's great admiration for Putin.

I can remember when back in the day I'd just nod off during "the news," while now it's the main thing I watch - and I know that not some here don't have cable - or even TV - so I try to post the breaking news of the day.
