Franken is a MASTER of the art of comedy with a segue to deeply meaningful. GOOD comedy has truth at its core and when that pathway is opened, the deeply meaningful will go straight to the heart and move us.

Paul Wellstone was a one-in-a-million politician. His loss was a profound national tragedy.

i will always remember what I was doing when I heard that Paul Wellstone and his family had been killed in a plane crash. I was driving out on a sales call and I went into a state of shock. I think that was the single biggest loss for the democrats and progressives for at least as long as I have been a voting citizen, which is approx. 27 years.

Nothing seemed to go right after that, including a douchbag republican replacing him.

my friend called me and told me so I didn't have to be shocked when I went home and got on DU. So I cried at work..it was so incredibly, shockingly Sad!

At least we've come around and have Senators Al now and Amy Klobuchar..

Paul would be Beaming!

I was driving in Phoenix when I heard on the radio that Pres Kennedy had been assassinated..and had to pull over..

they were awfully good friends (and when we hear him, we get choked up too). He ran to get Wellstone's seat back from that weasel Coleman - like most of us, he just couldn't stand what Normie was doing.

I remember watching Wellstone on C-Span and I was jealous because my representatives in Texas were crap.

I met Franken in New york after 9/11 where I was on a Search and Rescue team.

He was on a USO type tour visiting the rescue workers. He was with a lot of pretty famous people that were getting a lot more attention so he sort of looked like a lonely puppy.

I made a bee line for him because I was a huge fan of his books. I sounded like an idiot because I was coming off a 12 hour shift after a week of too little sleep (not to mention I was a little star struck).

He was so genuine and humble that he earned a fan for life. I have a picture with him and it is proudly displayed in my home. I was so stoked to see him run for Senate and WIN.

Great video. Even my 10 year old daughter thought it was hilarious. I think she wants us to leave her alone some time.

And, thank you for your Search and Rescue Efforts! I was living in upstate NY at that time in history.

I was thinking when I just saw this Vid about what a long and hard battle was fought and Won for Al to become Senator from Minnesota!

The Campaign Vid for Elizabeth is Classic..I wish he could help all the Dem Senators who are in need of this Message from Senator Al Franken.

Darn phone. I love Al Frankin and listened to Lying Liars on tape. Genius. He wrote a lot about Paul Wellstone.
