honestly say I don't necessarily understand her.

I'm not sure if that makes sense. It's just how I feel. I'm Jewish.

Maybe because she's black and grew up being aware of those prejudices, she never thought much about other types, and their have been many throughout history, but antisemitism is one of the oldest.

...about whether or not Jews constitutes a race (an artificial construct to begin with), but the point here is that the Germans thought so, since the Master Race ("Herrenrasse" ) did not include Jews. While closely tied to each other in American history, the words "race" and "color" are not interchangeable, especially when talking about the Holocaust.
