Top aides to Vice President Mike Pence, Marc Short and Greg Jacob, did not discuss direct conversations with former President Donald Trump over several hours of questioning in recent interviews with the House select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection, three sources familiar with the probe tell CNN.

1. Why should they?

They all claim executive privilege. It took 3 weeks to indict Steve Bannon because DOJ took the pains to show where Bannon didn't work in the Trump administration.

DOJ is trying to prove no privilege because precedence doesn't apply, instead, DOJ could just prove that executive privilege does not apply to cover up crimes.
