January 6 Committee Adopts Prosecutorial Style In Hope Of Prompting Garland To Action: NYT - MSNBC

Last edited Tue Feb 8, 2022, 05:39 AM - Edit history (1)

Michael Schmidt, Washington correspondent for the New York Times, discusses his reporting that the January 6th Committee is intentionally following a prosecutorial model in its investigation of the attack on the Capitol, including Donald Trump's role, in the hopes that Attorney General Merrick Garland will be moved to act beyond only prosecuting the losers who attacked Congress. It seems as though the J6 Committee thinks they have to do the DOJ's work for them. Lonestarblue Feb 2022 #3

who plotted and planned the insurection they will do it again, and the next time they'll succeed.

I don't know what, if anything, Garland has going in Justice, but he damned well better nail the perpetrators of the 1-6 attack on our democracy.

If he doesn't, his name will go down in the history books as the one man who could have saved our democracy, but didn't.

But meanwhile, we not only learn about more laws that TFG blatantly broke, but he's free to break many more - so this investigation could be never ending.

He would be unfit to lead the Justice Department. His job is to prosecute and jail the bad guys, not try and lets all get along for the good of the country James Comey mentality.
