Yes, I saw the Black Mirror episode, too. It's called Metalhead, if anyone wants to check it out.

are the major improvements in productivity.

If the people benefitted from this great, but way too many are being left behind, so as a relative handful of owners can make out like mega bandits.

That has been the case for decades, productivity has gone up but wages have for the vast majority have remained stagnant.

I see no reason as to why automizing ever increasing amounts of our societal obligations in regards to security to be any different.

Ultimately the oligarchs will control this as well if they don't already and life will become ever cheaper as a result.

And there were quite a few disturbing, if not outright terrifying, episodes of that show.

At least in the final season.

San Junipero is a fan favorite, probably because it was the first to have a "happy" ending as opposed to a depressing one.

patrolling and observation can be done more cheaply by drones I would think.

a la that scene in Star Wars until it topples over. Or just throwing a heavy blanket over the thing and watch it freak out.

Bet you can still throw a blanket on it and hog-tie it with heavy wire.

as I stated on another post, this is the equivalent of a Sopwith Camel in regards to fighter jets.

It won't be that long before these things can do the hog tying.

as we turn ever increasing amounts of war making over to "sanitary" automation, while our humanity is ever more disconnected from the act, we become more like them.

The Peter Ash series is pretty good if there are any fiction fans here that are unfamiliar with it.

Some fascist invented them. What purpose these so called dogs? Induce fear, record or watch ,dominate and abuse people.

Just wait until a tyrant has hundreds or hundreds of thousands sniper rifle armed "dogs" roaming streets..

Fascists wet dream.

I hate fascism. I hate sociopaths and narcissists. They the only kind of people that would find things like this "Cool"lets make some.
