Trump's Obstruction of Justice and the Running of the Clock: A Statute of Limitations Discussion

The report issued by Special Counsel Robert Mueller meticulously documented as many of ten felony obstruction of justice crimes by Donald Trump. We are now on the verge of the five-year statute of limitations expiring on some of Trump's crimes. Unless charges are brought by the Department of Justice soon - or unless there are sealed indictments lodged which would stop the statute of limitations from expiring - the clock will run out on our ability to hold Donald Trump accountable for some of his crimes.

A lack of transparency kills public confidence in our institutions of government. It's time the Department of Justice to reassure the American people that it is not intending to let the clock start to run out on the democracy-damaging crimes committed by Donald Trump. 2/8/2022.

But Kirshner brings up an excellent point and I can't believe that this hasn't been a major part of the discussion!

The violations have spread through every part of our government, Congress, DOJ, State, SCOTUS, so many positions remained "acting," if he ever filled them at all - precisely because his choices were not qualified, just as he was not. But of course he filled SCOTUS vacancies ASAP because he counted on using them to his advantage.

Our Attorney General needs to get it in gear, NY needs to get moving, let’s go. This disgusting slime ball is betting on running out the clock.

Heck, tearing up official documents, when that is illegal...witnesses who saw it.....come on Garland, NY, whoever, this stupid sleaze ball had made a career of running out the clock.

So time to get moving we can’t let this would be mobster slide anymore.
