Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - Sex Work

As long as sex work has existed, so have efforts to end it. John Oliver explains why criminalizing the trade hasn’t helped the most vulnerable people involved, and why we should start listening to those at the center of the conversation: sex workers.

at the end of his segment. The third alternative of decriminalization does seem to be the best option in order to provide safety and look after the long term interests of the workers. Allow them to either freelance or to work in brothels depending upon what makes them more comfortable.

The decriminalization option may also provide safer workplaces for LGBT workers who form their own stable businesses. While distrust of the law is prominent among sex workers, the same concerns are shared and at times elevated among the LGBT.

Something weird happened here, the listings said that this is what was on, but they were airing something else. I wondered if something happened to give it a late start - but I caught the second airing. So I finally turned to the Pacific feed of the show and that was really on, but I didn't catch the whole show.
