There is no replacing these cultural icons that go back more centuries than many societies in Europe, let alone the U.S., even existed...

I'm remembering when the Taliban destroyed the Buddha statues.
No doubt, putin thinks that destroying the iconic cultural treasures of Ukraine's historic past will erase their unique identity.
