It used to be that SCOTUS was the sacrosanct and unassailable branch of our government. But TFG upended that, as he has most everything else.

7. I remember back in the day when former Governor Mario Cuomo was considered for SCOTUS

And he said that he wasn't interested because serving on the court would end any of his political activities including his ability just to speak out. *sigh*

it’s a crime for a Justice to be unethical or political. Unfortunately, the Constitution is too often like the Bible, just about anything can be arguably justified with a quote/verse taken out of context.

And he knew that a SCOTUS justice had to be impartial.
