This could be said of the Republican Party and its co-dependent relationship with the racist, right wing media ecosystem that they helped create. Now the Republican party is filled with either crazy, true believers like Boebert, Geotz and MTG or cynical opportunists like Rand Paul or Ted Cruz who will say whatever the base wants him to say at the moment.
