Away from the republican party. If the conservatives are split between to parties, it gives the dems a single party to unite to.

Sadly, I don't see the Dems being savvy enough to make a move like this, they tend to be far too traditional in their dealings in politics.

I don't think America wants to see Dems. argue with a chair. It will come down to how much money can you spend on ads and rallies. That will become just a liefest which is playing on their field.
