A little bit went when the first billionaire was created and we found out how little he was paying in taxes.

Now there are a lot of billionaires, men with money for thousands of lifetimes, and they pay no taxes/

The corporations that made them rich pay no taxes.

Wages not only stagnated, they declined in purchasing power. More faith in government has gone every year this has gone on.

It disappeared with the government backed union busting, pupular with Republicans before the Great Depression and brought back when Reagan got in.

It went as people saw themselves unable to achieve what their parents did, even though those parents might have had high school educations and the kids were first generation college grads. They expect to see their kids achieve even less, and it's killing them inside.

It went when Big Ag bought up farms and mechanized them to the extent that huge machines can be controlled remotely via satellite and that means no jobs for their kids and everybody with gumption moved away and now there is nothing left, not even that small medical clinic 60 miles away. There's a Walmart, but you have to drive half a day to get to it.

it goes every time a government official lies about what he's just been caught doing and the press lets him get away with it.

It goes when there is no longer any penalty for rich men lying under oath. Some folks are starting to think lying to Congress os OK since all those rich men get to do it with no penalty, it's like telling a husband his bald patch doesn't show at all or a wife that dress doesn't make her look fat.

It goes when a poor guy on the street is executed for selling loose cigarettes to other poor people but men in business suits who are robbing us all get to retire on their own islands off Honduras, no questions asked..

It goes when Congress wastes trillions of dollars on overengineered crap the military can't use and doesn't want while things like day care, health care, pensions, preschool, and elder care are all too expensive.

And now that the USSC, for the first time in its history, is set to strip a constitutional right from first women and then everybody else covered under privacy rulings of their constitutional rights, that faith is GONE.

I am beginning to think we were right back in the 60s when things weren't nearly this bad.
