2. I went to elementary school for a year-and-a-half in a small school (grades 1-4) in Northern New York

Where the 4th grade teacher doubled as the principal and the boys' cloakroom also served as the "paddle room" where she actually paddled unruly kids! I was in 3rd grade and there were a couple of boys who had been held back more than once who were disruptive bullies - and those were the ones I knew who were "paddled..."

I also remember the days of spanking and paddling, and getting your mouth washed out with soap for saying naughty words!

We moved a few times when I was growing up for my Dad's job so I went to different schools, but that was the only one I knew where they still paddled kids! What would happen if they tried that today? Yikes! These days, teachers get in hot water for the books they use...

6. I really can't understand how anyone can vote for either of them

But even though we have senators to be proud of here in New York, we also have a truly deplorable Rep. - Elise Stefanik! Kirsten Gillibrand was our previous Rep., but then we got redistricted and Stefanik replaced a moderate Democrat, Bill Owens, who retired.

7. Not promoting violence,

But it's easy to see why his neighbor clocked him. The dude has a severe case of God-complex. Seems to be a common occurrence within Republican circles.
