Good summary from vlogbrothers channel (3.4m subscribers)
I said back at the beginning, Musk was naive at best, clueless about how vital “subjective moderation” to a social platform’s very survival.

1. He only thought it was a great idea because somebody on the brandy and cigar circuit
said it was so mean of Twitter monitors to stifle all those sensible fascist, er, conservative voices and that Americans were being deprived of half the information they needed to make informed choices. Oh, yeah, I can hear it now.
Apparently Musk's lawyers were a little saner. I can hear them, too, talking in terms of liability for right wing, er, conservative abuses that have caused some very real harm to people in the real world. I doubt Musk knows which way is up right now, which is why the deal is on hold. That and maybe he's paid a visit to Gab. I don't like Twitter, never have, so I'll have fun watching whatever happens. |

2. Very true! Beau of the 5th Column had a YouTube video about this
You can’t not moderate…ppl get hurt, sometimes seriously!
This guy thinks he can ram slam his way thru anything with his “I’m the smartest guy on the planet” attitude. |
