(528 posts)This would ensure more babies wouldn't be killed by tainted formula. Minority whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) led the effort to oppose the bill by sending all house republicans a memo arguing that additional inspectors would not address the problem. (Translation: republicans are massively funded by formula-producing pharmaceutical companies to cover up their liability and ineptitude). Scalise's argument is absolutely stupid and illogical - if the FDA is to blame instead of the pharmaceutical companies for their bacteria-laden facility and equipment that killed babies, this is precisely what would address the problem. Sadly, republicans care more about money kicked back into their pockets than they do the lives of Americans. https://www.newsweek.com/full-list-house-republicans-voted-against-fda-baby-formula-bill-1708036

(3,758 posts)What silence? Joe and FDA have been talking about the shortage since before it was first reported. Plus, the vote they were taking is, itself, a solution and not silence. Yet, this motherfucker misleads and poisons the well with lies and misleading statements.
Never forget: Republicans are traitorous, seditious assholes who will visit harm on America to gain the upper hand.
