Beto O'Rourke brings the house down with epic answer on gun control - MeidasTouch

Beto O'Rourke gave a pitch perfect answer during a town hall when asked about gun control, promising to follow the advice of law enforcement and repeal Abbott’s dangerous permitless carry law that allows people to carry a loaded gun in public without any background check, training, or permit. Francis Maxwell reacts. Video by Francis Maxwell.

It seems like he's really come into his own in the past couple of years. He's going to make a GREAT governor of Texas.

This hasn't changed, so this video is very misleading. Of those 35,000 people who were declined CWPs, many were surely not permitted to legally possess a firearm. Permitless concealed carry and open carry in Texas is legal only for those at least 21 years old who may lawfully possess a handgun.

Don't qualify to obtain a gun from a legitimate gun dealer? Then buy from a guy selling guns out of the trunk of his car - or from a "friend." It is happening and we've seen the results - and the carnage.

Thus, it would still be illegal for him to then carry it. The video implies it will be some sort of state sanctioned free-for-all to conceal and open carry.

Generally speaking, the eligibility requirements for buying pistols are very similar to those for getting CWPs or carrying pistols where they aren't required. However, the background checks on CWP applications tend to be more thorough.

What a disgrace and reich wing bimbo of epic proportions. Beto has made some statements about "taking away AR-15's" (that I agree with, but....} that have alienated a LOT of gun owners. These morons actually fear the government is going to come for their pea shooters if that should ever happen...and just the threat of taking away somebody's cannon is enough to cause bedlam and panic in the cult and ignorant NRA clowns.

However, this message - in the wake of yet another mass shooting - is right on target and the only miscreants who could have an issue with this law are those who are planning on breaking it - with more dangerous results.
