Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her platinum jubilee - DW News



Elizabeth II has been Queen of Britain for 70 years. The British adore her Majesty. The government has given the people a bank holiday to celebrate their monarch's platinum jubilee.

I was seven and thought it was awfully boring, but I watched it on our large screen 15" black and white tv anyway.

It was 4 -5 more years before that happened and reception totally sucked unless you had an antenna about 40 feet up.

That reminds me. I have been told there is a large tv antenna in my attic. I have not seen it. I asked an electrician to remove it and he said it would take a long time to take it apart and probably was not worth the cost. I guess it isn't doing any harm.

we got to watch it. Quite exciting as my mother's family was from England and Ireland.
