(5,543 posts)but it is a very popular folk song in Ukraine. Here's a version of it with English subtitles and a brief explanation of the song.
Oy U Luzi Chervona Kalyna feat Andriy Khlyvnyuk (Boombox) with English lyrics- Remix by Kiffness
Oy U Luzi Chervona Kalyna is a folk song of Ukraine. It speaks of a bush/tree native throughout Ukraine called the Viburnum (Kalyna in Ukrainian). The branches hang low with sadness of what is happening to its beloved Ukraine; the singer speaks of lifting up the plant and singing for the glory of Ukraine.
This version was sung by Andriy Khlyvnyuk and music remixed by Kiffness, translation to English by Charles McGrotty.
Andriy Khlyvnyuk is the lead singer of Ukrainian band 'BoomBox'. Andriy was on tour in the United States of America when Russia invaded his homeland. He left his tour in the US early so that he could return home and join the fight to defend his beloved Ukraine.
Kiffness is a south African music artist known for his many talented remixes.

Curious these women don't have weapons.
