Europeans Make Major Sacrifice To Punish Russia For Ukraine War - MSNBC Prime

Some Europeans are already paying more than twice as much for gas as Americans and now they've agreed to new sanctions on Russian oil, their biggest source of fossil fuel, that is likely to drive prices even higher. Aired on 05/31/2022.

paying more for fuel. They understand it's a choice of high prices at this moment or they will, frankly, pay in blood if they appease pooty. They seem to have a better understanding of the lessons of WWII, sometimes I feel we Americans have lost an understanding of the danger, horror and sacrifices made during that war. The Russians must be stopped now or the world will later pay terrible prices, in treasure and life.

Maybe it's because, for Europeans, WWII was fought on their own land - but you're right, Putin is a danger globally. I still remember hiding in the basement of my school as a kindergartner, one of the drills we had back then to prepare for Khrushchev's threat to "bury us!" How soon we forget...

And, I don’t mind paying more to support Ukraine, but I feel our extra dollars are a gouge by the oil barons here in the US of A. Actually, I support higher higher gas prices generally, because it better for our environment.

That's always been the case. So what's the point of making that claim? Wouldn't it be better to analyze it for the rest of your audience who didn't know this, to inform them that while German fuel prices are high now, the fact that they are about double that of the U.S. is NOT news!
